Editorial – November 2026

A Word from the Editor

Well, what a shift in seasons! Where did summer go? As I finish putting this issue together, we’re at the tail end of the first named storm of the season, Storm Aósten. It certainly feels as though autumn has arrived in a hurry this year! I hope you’re all keeping warm and cosy as the evenings draw in and the leaves continue to turn.

We’re still looking for anyone with an interest in getting involved with the wider Chimes editorial team. You don’t need to be an expert or have any previous experience, just an interest in helping to make our community magazine the best it can be. Whether you have a little time to spare, enjoy writing, proofreading or helping bring local news and events together, we’d love to hear from you. It’s a great way to get involved and help keep our villages connected.

And what do you think of the lovely photograph Amanda has shared with us for the cover? Amazing, isn’t it! It’s always wonderful to see our local area captured so beautifully. If you’ve taken a lovely photograph of our villages, landscapes, wildlife or the changing seasons, please send it our way. You never know, your picture could be gracing the front cover of a future issue of Chimes!

As always, thank you to everyone who contributes, shares their news and helps make Chimes a little snapshot of life in our local community. We couldn’t do it without you.
